I always knew that once we moved here, I'd end up doing this! Here's a picture of my Dad, Roy J. Penley, under the Bristol sign. On the back of the picture it says, "July 1983. Pa-Paw standing in Virginia and Tennessee at the same time."
And here I am, last week, doing the same thing! Daddy had better weather and was able to throw both arms up in the air, while I had to settle for one.
Dad died in 1988, so this was probably taken on his last trip to the Tri-Cities region. Sure looks like he had fun, doesn't it?
