Who's Your Daddy?

Without a doubt, our Great Pyrenees, Jake, is one big dog. But is he old enough to be a daddy? Our neighbor and cousin, Charlie Grizzle, thinks so. When Jake went to the vet last week, he topped the scales at 79 pounds - that's a gain of 18 pounds since we took him in.
I guess this little fella does look quite a bit like Jake. Charlie's sheep dog, Snowball, had puppies down in the field, most of which were white like these guys, but at least one was black. I don't know enough about canine genetics to know if two white dogs can have a black puppy, but I suppose it's possible.

Cait and Alex have been visiting these little guys in Charlie's barn. Their mother is very, very shy of people, and Charlie had a hard time catching these two. If the girls have anything to say about it, these two pups will be a little friendlier with people.

Now here's a face anybody could love. Just weeks old when these pics were taken, the puppies were already heavier than our three little ones, especially Chottie, our Yorkie, who weighs in at a whopping five pounds.

Pappy struck a pose in the yard today and luckily I had the camera in my hand. Isn't he beautiful?
